The house sleeps 8 easily and 10 are possible. The setting is an old vineyard in the hills, five minutes drive above the town of Lodeve, in the heart of the wine region of Languedoc. The house faces due south and there are stunning and uninterrupted views towards Lac Salagou and westwards up the Grezac valley. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet yet not isolated, with many interesting and quaint villages easily reachable and the Mediterranean coast only 50 minutes away by car.
The house has a private swimming pool and spacious garden and patio area. The hillside surrounding La Capitelle is criss-crossed with footpaths providing endless opportunities to walk and explore.
La Capitelle is named after capitelle or shepherd dwellings that are dotted around the hills of the Languedoc. The small round stone constructions, dating back hundreds of years, provided shade and resting places for shepherds. There are several examples of capitelles in the garden of the villa and the surrounding area.
