Nimes - 90 minutes, daily flights Ryanair
Carcasonne - 90 minutes, daily flights Ryanair
Beziers - 40 minutes, flights Ryanair (starting early 2008)
Hire cars are easily available at all four airports, however it is advisable to book in advance.
By car
The drive to Lodeve from the Channel ports takes 10 hours. By taking a route across the Massif Central it is possible to avoid the busiest French autoroutes and much of the journey is toll free. The house is accessed via an unmade lane leading to our private paved drive and gravel parking area.
LODEVE AND LOCALITY
Lodeve is a traditional small French town unspoilt by tourism. There is a thriving Saturday morning market, which provides an opportunity to buy fresh local produce and practise your French. The town has several supermarkets, bakeries and an excellent "traiteur". There are several cafes and restaurants.
The centre of Lodeve has numerous art and craft shops and the town has a growing reputation for its arts festivals. There is an historic church, museum and cultural centre.
Lodeve is an excellent base from which to explore the Languedoc.

- UNESCO heritage village of St Guilem de Desert (25 minutes),

- Mediterranean beaches (50 minutes).
